Mawunya Studio
A private dashboard that brings the mail, calendar, tasks and site analytics behind mawunya.dev into one place.
What it is
Mawunya Studio is the private administrative dashboard for mawunya.dev, a personal portfolio and writing site. It is used by one person — the site’s owner — to run the site and to see the day’s work in one place instead of across five browser tabs.
It is not a product, has no sign-up, and is not offered to anyone else. Access is restricted to a single pre-authorised Google account; any other account is refused before a session is created.
What it does
- Publishes the site. Writes and edits the projects, articles, profile and settings that this public site renders.
- Shows the day. Today’s calendar, tasks that are due, and mail that needs attention, on one screen.
- Reminds. Announces every event and due task thirty minutes ahead.
- Reports. Traffic to the public site, so the owner can tell which writing is worth continuing.
Why it needs Google access
The dashboard connects to its owner’s own Google account. No visitor to this site signs in, and no visitor’s Google data is ever requested. Each permission maps to one feature above:
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Gmail — read and modify | List messages already starred or marked important, and star, mark read or archive them. It never sends mail and cannot permanently delete any. |
| Calendar | Show the week ahead, and create or remove the owner’s own events. |
| Tasks | List the owner’s tasks and mark them complete. |
| Analytics — read only | Show traffic figures for this site. Nothing is ever written to Analytics. |
| Name, email address, profile picture | Identify the account signing in, so the allowlist can be enforced. |
Access tokens are stored encrypted on the server and are never sent to a browser. Mail, events and tasks are read on demand to render a screen and are not copied into the application’s database. Access can be withdrawn at any time from the dashboard or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Mawunya Studio’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never sold, never transferred to third parties, never used for advertising, and never used to train generalised artificial intelligence models.
Where it runs
The dashboard is served from admin.mawunya.dev and its API from api.mawunya.dev, both operated by the owner of this domain. It is not publicly accessible.
